The Dark Side

Friday, August 17, 2007 @ 11:02 PM | Use your voice

last month, i finally caved and went over to the dark side. that’s right… i joined facebook. i’m convinced this is the reason for my lack of updates as of late. it truly is addictive. hopefully i’ll still continue to update this blog. i’m terribly behind in adding pictures, changing layouts, updating, etc. oh well, one day when i have time, i suppose…

Unsportsmanlike Conduct At Its Finest!

Wednesday, May 30, 2007 @ 11:27 PM | 2 have spoken

and once again, folks, the yankees show their true colours. is it any wonder why everybody hates them?

it never ceases to amaze me what the yankees are willing to do to win a ball game. it really shouldn’t surprise me anymore; i should be used to it, don’t you think? i just have one thing to say: a-rod is an asshole. he is childish, immature, and clearly has no faith in his own team seeing as he has to resort to trickery and deception in order to win a game. if i was his manager, i’d bench him next game for such unsportsmanlike behaviour; torre’s probably writing him a big cheque. it makes me ill to think about it.

my only solace? this:

if the jays can’t win it all, then i say, “GO RED SOX!”

i am officially a boston red sox fan (purely out of spite). take that johnny damon…

god i hate the yankees.

Wooohooo!

Update #1

Wednesday, May 16, 2007 @ 11:15 AM | Use your voice

first, and foremost, i have to wish joseph a HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY! you’re OLD :)

our road trip, entitled “too many places to mention”, was one amazing adventure! there are entirely too many things to mention in the limited time i have to update today, so i’ll just say that it was FANTASTIC!

i also want to say that i’m very sad that gilmore girls is over :(

one more thing… i cannot believe that dreamz didn’t give yao-man the immunity idol! i never thought he would betray yao like that, especially after he said he wanted to show his son, and the world, that he was a man of his word… but as much as i’m mad at dreamz, i hate alex even more. he is the most egotistical and self-righteous person in the world! the way he talked to cassandra during the finale made me want to wring his neck until his inflated head popped off! he was extremely disrespectful and just plain rude. i don’t know why he felt that he was so superior to everyone else… clearly he wasn’t smart enough to make it into the final three. UGH… he just made me so angry. i hate people like him. meliss, please don’t turn into a snobby lawyer on me, okay?? ;)

okay, i lied. i have ONE more thing to say: dreamz should give the truck back to yao-man!

i’ll have a massive update detailing my trip as soon as i have some time :)

i know i’ve neglected this site for a while, but i’m going to try to update regularly again :)

the main reason i’m writing is to say that the blue jays won their opening day game against the detroit tigers this afternoon! yay!

i don’t have anything interesting to say.

i’m going to see the phantom of the opera tomorrow! it may be ten years after my mom said she would take me, but at least i’m finally going. lol. speaking of the theatre, joseph told me that he bought me dirty dancing tickets for my birthday!! awwww, he must really love me :)

okay, that’s all i’ve got. i’m sure i’ll have a plethora of stories to tell once joseph and i return from our roadtrip…

27 days and counting…

Phoebe: Aw, Phoebs…
Rachel: Honey, that’s your name.
Phoebe: That’s short for Phoebe? I thought that’s just what we called each other.

who else saw the fleeting SNOWFALL this afternoon?!? winter’s on its way :) i’m definitely going to try and hit the slopes this year…

random thought of the day: everyone should go download FIREFOX. it’s waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than internet explorer.

another random thought: my dad’s 60th surprise birthday party, which was about a month late, went over extremely well! he was shocked to say the least, but i can’t blame him; who actually thinks that people are going to throw you a birthday party a month after the fact? lol. here are some pictures:

Wedding Bells and Sean Paul

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 @ 11:40 AM | 2 have spoken

sorry for the lack of updates, but i’ve been in a deluge these past few weeks!

brian and michelle’s wedding was on saturday (pictures to come later!). it was a wonderful day, but my feet are still trying to recover :) pictures and the receiving line went on FOREVER! i was so happy when we finally sat down at the head table and i could take off my shoes and slip on my old navy flip flops… lol. but all in all, it was a beautiful ceremony and a fun-filled night - lots of dancing, drinking, and socializing! and there weren’t any major catastrophes, which is always good… there were a few minor hitches along the way (like the priest not remembering brian’s name, the banquet hall forgetting to do a bunch of things and leaving it all for joseph to do, etc.), but nothing too major. one regret i have is that i wore mascara. mel and i debated whether or not we should - we should because we’ll be taking tons of pictures and we want our makeup to show up in those pictures, but we shouldn’t just in case we cry and it runs. well, i decided to wear mascara because i NEVER cry at weddings… boy was i wrong! i was fine throughout the ceremony and dinner, but when brian gave his speech, i just couldn’t help myself. it was too touching…

pictures:
[x] the happy couple
[x] mel, my mom, and me
[x] the groomsmen

to sum up, here are some memorable moments from the wedding:
- me dropping my program about 2 minutes into the mass and having it slide across the floor and land about a foot from the alter
- the priest presenting “mr and mrs brian……..[long pause]……… chang?”
- the priest forgetting who our pope is: “pope john paul our pope…. uh… benedict…. our……… bishop….”
- tien getting splashed with the holy water… too cute!
- almost falling into a water fountain in my bridesmaid dress while we were taking pictures because the photographer insisted that i jump over a garden and land on a ledge (no bigger than a foot wide) that surrounded the fountain
- the “mini moo” and the red silo
- alice (the flower girl) and tien (the ring bearer) being “boyfriend and girlfriend”

so that was the wedding… now let me explain how i got invited to a private lunch with sean paul and his family. as you may have heard, sean paul is in toronto touring with mariah carey. well, usually when he comes to toronto he goes over to his family’s house for lunch/dinner. it just so happens that my aunt (through marriage) is sean paul’s aunt. and this year i got invited to the big luncheon! how cool is that?! he’s a really great guy. for some reason, i wasn’t expecting him to be so normal! lol… he just hung out with us, talked, ate, took pictures with us, signed some autographs, etc. i felt kind of bad taking pictures of him at his own family party, but a few of his cousins were doing the same, so i figured i might as well! it was so much fun :)

pictures:
[x] sean paul and me
[x] sean paul eating
[x] sean paul posing
[x] sean paul posing again

i also just want to mention that i met ed sprague a few weeks ago!!! lol… mel was very excited :)

another update to come when i get some more wedding photos!

[Playing a video game]
Rory: Where’d I go?
Lane: I don’t know!
Rory: What’d I do?
Lane: I don’t know!
Rory: Did I lose?
Lane: Well, you have no head, so I would say yes.
